NM Prayer and Pledge

Cebu City - RNC members thru the Technical Working Group lead the delivery of the 48th NM Prayer in their respective agencies. An institutionalized activity of the RNC in Central Visayas, this is done every Monday for the whole month of July in time for the agencies’ flag raising ceremony. Together with the prayer, the 48th NM pledge is also recited during the flag raising rites.

One of the reasons we pray, is that through prayer we acknowledge a higher power than ourselves. Prayer opens the door to greater understanding. Prayer is the most intimate form of communication that directly connects us to God on a personal level.

The 48th Nutrition Month Prayer aligns with God’s will as we seek for His wisdom and guidance to show us the path that we should take. The nutrition month prayer seeks His lead to help in once and for all eradicating malnutrition in the nation. The nutrition month prayer gives hope and strength as it also increases the faith of our leaders, nutrition action officers, nutrition advocates and workers as they put their faith into action.

The first time the 48th Nutrition Month Prayer of National Nutrition Council Region VII was made public was during the kick-off celebration of the 48th Nutrition Month in Central Visayas at SM City Consolacion, Cebu on 01 July 2022. The Philippine Coconut Authority Region VII through Ms. Lorna Mae F. Dalumpines PCA7 Regional Technical Staff and member of the RNC-Technical Working Group led the prayer which is as follows:

“Our Most Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father,

We are so blessed by Thy creation

For its miraculous ability to sustain the nation

For the abundant resources that we receive

In these times of trial, our faith in You retrieved

Bless our mothers, that they may feed their offspring well

So that our nation’s children would excel

With right nutrition in the first 1000 days of their lives

Our country will flourish, grow, and thrive

Gravitate Thy people to a healthier lifestyle

May the young reach out for healthier food and the old live for a long while

Bless the nation’s new leaders with your heavenly wisdom and power

That they bring forth good nutrition decisions in this prime hour

Bless our hardworking frontliners as they continue to serve

In this new normal, may they reach the gratuity they deserve

We ask Thee to bless us with Your wisdom and grace

To counter the economic, health, and food insecurity we face

As we transition and adopt to the new normal ways

Strong bodies, minds, and souls we hope to receive by Your Grace

Give us strength and ingenuity

So that all Filipinos receive good nutrition and be healthy

In the blessed name of thy beloved son, Jesus Christ; Amen.”
