Cebu City – The Association of Government Information Officers 7 (AGIO 7) during its monthly general assembly on 22 July 2022 discussed the 48th Nutrition Month (NM). DMO II/PNFP Siquijor Province Mr. Gab Flores shared the NM theme, the campaign objectives, and the key messages of the celebration.
He also challenged the media to perform their roles to help improve nutrition as we move forward to a better new normal including development of materials for information, education, and communication of nutrition messages to the public; promotion of good and healthy nutrition practices in commonly consumed media like film and television, as well as digital media; encouraging the public to participate in national and local health and nutrition programs; and stop calling for donations of milk formula contrary to the Milk Code.
AGIO 7 is the association of government public information officers of the different government agencies in Central Visayas responsible for creating and effectively communicating the happenings inside the government organization to the public through the media.
The general assembly conducted partnership with the Philippine Information Agency Region VII was hosted by the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development. The meeting also discussed other campaigns for the month of July including Diabetes Awareness Month by Dr. Van Phillip Baton of the Non-communicable Disease Division, Disaster Resilience by Dr. Shelbay Blanco of the Health Emergency Management Section and the Blood Donors Month by Ms. Jocelyn Tabotabo of the National Voluntary Blood Services. // DMO II Gab Flores, RND
