Cebu City – On 16 July 2022, the Ani ug Kita Season 3 TV Talk show of the Department of Agriculture – Central Visayas (DA 7) featured nutrition in line with the celebration of the 48th Nutrition Month.
The show anchored by Dr. Melquiades Ibarra, DA 7 OIC-Administration Chief is co-hosted by Ms. Cheryl Dela Victoria DA 7. NNC 7 Information Management Officer Mr. Gabe Henriel Sucalit served as its resource person. A highly informative episode that talked about the relevance of proper nutrition to the human body, and tackled misinformation about diet, and therapeutic diets.
The episode also highlighted the month-long celebration of Nutrition Month. IMO Sucalit shared a brief history on the reason why we Filipinos celebrate Nutrition Month along with the theme being focused on this year – “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama samang gawan ng Solusyon”. This nutrition month, there’s a move to call for the collective effort to improve nutrition as the people shifts living to a better normal in this pandemic. The purpose of this year’s campaign is to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition in building resiliency from this continuing health crisis, inspire the different stakeholders on discussing innovative ways on building back better designs for the delivery of nutrition services, and the need for involvement of various sectors and the general public in the different means and ways that promote good nutrition.
