Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental - Barangay Mansagomayon, an upland barangay in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental, and the last barangay border to Pamplona, Negros Oriental had a festive celebration of Nutrition Month on 15 July 2022.

The Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) headed by the very supportive Punong Barangay Hon. Charito A. Yape, with the Barangay Nutrition Action Officer and Rural Health Midwife Rica A. Torres, Ms. Hyacinth Vasquez, RN, Nurse II of the DOH-CVCHD, and the committee members initiated the event as they took the chance to celebrate it in a new normal way where events like this are already permitted.

The celebration started with a Zumba session headed by select high school students and a short program followed. The celebration's main event was the Cooking Contest represented by the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and they were partnered with the Barangay Kagawads. The contestants were given 2 hours for the preparation, cooking, and plating. The BNS together with her BHW colleagues had also showcased their talents through the intermission numbers conducted while the contestants prepared and cooked their recipes.

Public Health Nurses from Municipal Health Office Lucia Anito and Carlisle Logro, Nurse II Charise Abujos RHM Arlene Guaren served as judges for the cooking contest while PHN and MNPC Loryjean Necio and ND II Jhianne Mae Nicole C. Tugaoen of the DOH-CVCHD acted as resource persons.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, all the participants and guests were having a good time as they had celebrated the nutrition month after a very long pause since the pandemic started. // ND II Jhianne Mae Nicole C. Tugaoen, RND
