Tayasan, Negros Oriental - The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Tayasan, Negros Oriental held their 3rd Quarter meeting on 18 July 2022. Presided by the newly elected Municipal Mayor and Municipal Nutrition Committee Chair, Hon. Susano Antonio D. Ruperto III, the meeting included, among other matters, the re-organization of the Municipal Nutrition Committee.
Dr. Myrasol P. Zuniega, MHO/Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, assisted by Ms. Raya Faith Luce, ND II of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7 conducted a brief orientation on Nutrition Committee roles and functions and introduced the Philippine Plan of Action (PPAN) 2017-2022. Results of the Municipal Operation Timbang in 2021-2022 were also presented.
As one of the activities for disaster preparedness, the LGU also re-organized the Municipal Nutrition Cluster. Providing assistance, IMO Lyneth Anne A. Amahit discussed Nutrition in Emergencies and the roles and functions of the Nutrition Cluster during emergencies. IMO Amahit also emphasized the importance of Information Management during disasters and recommended the designation of an Information Management Officer in the municipality.
The meeting ended with agreement to conduct Nutrition Program Management and Nutrition in Emergency training to be participated by all the members of MNC and Nutrition Cluster. As an output of the training, the municipality shall have the Municipal Nutrition Action Plan and Nutrition in Emergency Plan. // IMO NegOr Lyneth Anne A. Amahit, RND
