Cebu City – Guided with the aim of the 48th Nutrition Month campaign to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition in building resilience and recovery from the pandemic, the Central Visayas Regional Nutrition Committee through its technical working group intensifies its campaign of the key messages through a month-long quad media campaign.
Among the agencies who participated in the campaign were the Department of Health CV CHD, Department of Agriculture RFO 7, Department of Social Welfare and Development RFO 7, Philippine Association of Nutrition (PAN-Cebu Chapter), Nutritionist-Dietitians' Association of the Philippines (NDAP-Cebu Chapter).
Aside from promoting the key messages of the nutrition month celebration, the strategy also allowed these agencies and organizations to share their programs and efforts to help address the nutrition problem in the region through their agency’s mandates and areas of expertise. The media appearances also served as a good venue to encourage the public to avail of these nutrition services, especially since these are freely available in the nearest rural and barangay health centers.
“We are very grateful to all the members of the RNC who voluntarily and wholeheartedly spent their time even during weekends the whole month of July to advocate for good nutrition, especially in this time of the pandemic. Their efforts and commitment are what inspires us more to strengthen the region’s social and behavior change communication campaign”, said NNC 7’s Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission.
Aside from the quad media advocacies, the RNC member agencies also spearheaded and continued other nutrition campaigns through their existing social media accounts while continuing to intensify their delivery of quality nutrition services for the benefit and welfare of every Filipino child. // NVS
