Cebu City - In part one (https://tinyurl.com/yckvxzkd) a BS Math intern shared what she knows about the National Nutrition Council and her experiences with NNC 7 during her exposure to the agency’s way of functioning as a government organization.
When another intern of the same course, Mr. Jay-ar Gregorio, was asked the same question if he had heard of NNC before his internship, he responded: "As the highest coordinating body on nutrition, it is inevitable to haven't heard of the National Nutrition Council. But honestly speaking, I didn't know it was NNC until I entered the agency as an intern. The first time I have heard of NNC was when Sir Gab, an acquaintance of mine, did his internship in NNC and soon landed a job in NNC.”
One question was whether the organization’s passage and dissemination of the different regional and national nutrition policies; conduct of programs, projects, or activities made an impact in the community, Mr. Gregorio responded: “In the eyes of a student like me, I could say that the programs of NNC are effective and can be seen evidently on every local government unit. As an example, I've met across some BNSs in our barangay conducting the OPT Plus program of NNC”, as his honest response. But as I've said earlier, “I didn't know it's NNC until I entered the agency.”
The interns had the opportunity to learn about how the government operates, particularly in of the National Nutrition Council. One realization of Mr. Gregorio is that “There are people who works tirelessly day and night just to organize and mobilize nutrition program, activities, policies for the community.” // DMO II Christine Lopez, RND
