NSOA Culmination

Cebu City – Wrapping up the second season of Idol ko si Nanay Nutrition School On-Air, the National Nutrition Council Region VII facilitated the virtual graduation ceremony on 22 August 2022.

Thirty-four (34) official graduates were presented during the online graduation rites. NNC 7’s Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission officially confirmed the graduates who virtually received their certificates of completion. Aside from the certificates, all graduates also received cash tokens and load allowances.

NNC 7 also awarded the outstanding performers of the second batch who consistently excelled and participated throughout the session. The awardees received certificates of recognition and additional cash incentives to recognize their laudable performance during classes and quizzes.

Among the awardees include:

  • First Honor: Ms. Mary Rose B. Anuba (Brgy. Villa Aurora, Antequera, Bohol)
  • Second Honor: Ms. Mutya L. Lawag (Brgy. Poblacion, Antequera, Bohol)
  • Third Honor: Ms. Nikkisha Mae L. Cadalo (Brgy. Laca, Jagna, Bohol)
  • Most Participative:
    • Jesa Mae E. Canoy (Brgy. Sto. Niño, Toledo City)
    • Rosalia Jen S. Cañete (Brgy. Cabitoonan, Toledo City)
    • Sheryl Mae S. Pitogo (Purok Kawayan 5, Brgy. Tayud, Liloan, Cebu)

In her message, Dr. Mission congratulated all the graduates for successfully completing the 10 sessions despite the different challenges they encountered. She also expressed her hope for the attendees especially the moms to continually apply their learnings in their respective homes and share their knowledge with their family members, friends, neighbors, and the communities. She further emphasized that as mothers and caregivers, they have a critical role to play to prevent stunting and other forms of malnutrition at home.

The Idol ko si Nanay Nutrition School On-Air is part of the sustaining activities of the 48th Nutrition Month celebration to virtually engage mothers, and caregivers including family members on Early Childhood Care and Development services in the First 1000 days that can be used in their day to day lives.

The program, which was composed of 10 sessions with 20 modules each session, discussed a wide array of topics from pre-pregnancy, breastfeeding, appropriate complementary feeding, developmental milestones, and child’s rights.

With the success of the second season, NNC 7 will continue this form of nutrition education to target participants using the same social media platform.
