TAME Siquijor Larena

Larena, Siquijor – The Technical Assistance Monitoring and Evaluation (TAME) team of the National Nutrition Council Region VII got inputs from both the implementors side and the beneficiaries’ side as to how they felt during the implementation of the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TKSP) in Siquijor Province. The TAME visit was both held on 22nd and 23rd of August 2022 in Siquijor, Larena and Maria of Siquijor province.

In the year 2021, Siquijor province was one of the pioneering LGU that was able to implement the Phase 1A of the TKSP which focuses on nutritionally-at-risk pregnant women as the beneficiaries.

The TAME team composed of NO III Nasudi G. Soluta and PNFP Siquijor Province Gabriel M. Flores determined the extent of compliance of implementers to the guidelines during the implementation of the program. Specifically, the team evaluated the implementation of the program on the local level, determined the condition and timeliness of the provisions of commodities and services, identified positive and negative outcomes brought by the program, and provided venue for sharing of knowledge and appreciation on the importance of the implementation of the program.

Queries from both the implementors and beneficiaries’ side using the guide questions from the monitoring form were asked to get detailed concerns or issues of the program implementation during the preparatory activities, implementation phase, and monitoring activities. Although there were some concerns such as transportation and limited selection of food choices, it also yielded good practices like mothers learning to cook, complete participation and cooperation of the beneficiaries, and constant communication from the implementors side especially through the BNSs // DMO II Gab Flores, RND
