Cebu City - Week 37 of the Year 2022 is a new slate of opportunities for the National Nutrition Council Region VII (NNC 7) to work towards its goal of reducing stunting (short for age) and other forms of malnutrition in Central Visayas. NNC 7 as the secretariat arm of the Regional Nutrition Committee has identified priority programs, projects, and activities in the region that will contribute to the achievement of the Regional Plan Action for Nutrition (RPAN) goals and help attain the Sustainable Developmental Goal (SDG) 2 - zero hunger, and SDG 3 - good health and healthy–being which the country committed to the international community. Through the goals identified in the RPAN, the NNC 7 Excellent Team dedicates its time and efforts daily to work towards realizing the vision of having healthier and nutritionally-well Filipinos.
As a new workweek begins, NNC 7 has a set of events scheduled that is to be accomplished before the weekend creeps in. Listed below is what NNC 7 is set out to do for Week 37:
12 September (Monday)
- NPCAR Special Meeting to discuss the events and happenings that will take place next month during the NPCAR Congress.
- Proceed with ongoing preparations up to Thursday (Sept 15) for the NAO Congress/Grand Nutrition Awards.
13 September (Tuesday)
- Advocacy Visit to Bohol.
RNPC Dr. Letlet will have an audience with Gov. Aumentado to talk about the nutrition situation of Bohol and discuss ways to improve the nutritional status of the Boholanons.
16 September (Friday)
- NAO Congress and Grand Nutrition Awards
17 September (Saturday)
- Aksyon Para sa Nutrisyon on 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM at DYLA radio station, 909 khz
18 September (Sunday)
- NutriGame, Apil Na on 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at DYSS radio station, 999 khz
To fulfill the above targets, the team has set for themselves the engagement of its multilevel and multisectoral regional and local government partners as they believe that the better approach to address malnutrition and its related challenges is through collaboration. The journey isn’t going to be easy. Still, no arduous task is insurmountable if everyone keeps moving forward and keeps up the teamwork with the current Excellent Team members stitched together with its core values of integrity, zeal, excellence, sensitivity, and transparency.
