Week 39

Cebu City - Week 39 of the Year 2022 like always is full of opportunities and challenges for the National Nutrition Council Region VII (NNC 7) to work towards its goal of reducing stunting (short for age) and other forms of malnutrition in Central Visayas. NNC 7 as the secretariat arm of the Regional Nutrition Committee has identified priority programs, projects, and activities in the region that will contribute to the achievement of the Regional Plan Action for Nutrition (RPAN) goals and help attain the Sustainable Developmental Goal (SDG) 2 - zero hunger, and SDG 3 - good health and well–being which the country committed to the international community. Through the goals identified in the RPAN, the NNC 7 Amazing Team dedicates its time and efforts day by day to work towards realizing the vision of having healthier and nutritionally-well Filipinos.

As a new workweek begins, NNC 7 has a set of events scheduled that is to be accomplished before the weekend creeps in. Listed below are what NNC 7 is set out to do for the week:

26 September (Monday)

  • Training & Development for NNC Region VII

NNC 7 engages in the development and enhancement of blogging and article writing spearheaded by former Regional Director Minerva BC Newman

27 September (Tuesday)

  • Preparation for the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2028 Workshop

28-30 September (Wednesday-Friday)

  • Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2028 Workshop

01 October (Saturday)

  • Aksyon Para sa Nutrisyon on 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM at DYLA radio station, 909 khz

02 October (Sunday)

  • NutriGame, Apil Na on 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at DYSS radio station, 999 khz

To fulfill the above targets, the team has set the engagement of its multilevel and multisectoral regional and local government partners as they believe that the better approach to address malnutrition and its related challenges is through collaboration especially in planning for RPAN 2023-2028. As these challenges & opportunities persist the secretariat will continue to pursue quality output in line with the NNC’s core values of integrity, zeal, excellence, sensitivity, and transparency. As the highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition in Central Visayas together with the active participation of different nutrition stakeholders, we are committed to ensuring a coordinated, efficient & effective partnership with the Regional Nutrition Committee.
