Tagbilaran City – One hundred one participants from 46 local government units of Bohol province attended the first leg of the Central Visayas planning workshop on the integration of nutrition in the 2023-2025 LDP and 2023 AIP on October 13-14, 2022, at the Kew Hotel, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Organized by the NNC 7, the said workshop helped with LGUs to finalize their nutrition action plans based on the priorities of their updated PDPFP, CDP, LDIP, and scaled up budget allocation for nutrition in their 2023 AIP with focus on the first 1000 days interventions.
Dr. Parolita A. Mission, NNC 7 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator and workshop team leader extended her gratitude to all attending NAOs, planning officers, local nutrition program coordinators and nutrition staff for their attendance and support to the activity.
The two-day workshop covered 7 sessions which included investing in nutrition with results, formulation of nutrition situation analysis, inclusion of nutrition in the priority development challenges, setting up of outcome targets and deeper integration of nutrition in the 2023 and 2024 plans and budget among others.
Bohol Province DNPC Ms. Glenda G. Grafilo expressed her appreciation on behalf of the Provincial Nutrition Committee to NNC 7 for bringing back the face-to-face workshop. “Mas dali nalang ni nga paagi alang namo tungod kay mas sayon mi makaduol ug makapangutana kung aduna mi’y dili masabtan sa paghimo sa among plano.”, said DNPC Grafilo. She along with the rest of the attending LGUs also committed to finish and submit their plans for comments by the regional team.
All LGUs are set to draft and approve their proposed three-year LNAPs this year, with actions and interventions aligned with the new PPAN 2023-2028.
Bohol province marks the return of the face-to-face workshop activities in the region after almost 2 years of hiatus brought about by the COVID 19 pandemic. Aside from Bohol, NNC 7 also facilitated the same workshop for the provinces of Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor. // DMO II Norre Jean V. delos Santos
