Cebu, City - The Human Resources for Health for Nutrition conducted their year-end Program Implementation Review (PIR) on 08 December 2022 at the Golden Valley Hotel, Cebu City, Cebu. The activity was attended by all 14 deployed HRH-N in the region: two (2) from Bohol Province, three (3) from Cebu Province, five (5) from Negros Oriental Province and two (2) from Siquijor Province.
Since the deployment of additional human resource to the different priority areas in the region, it has contributed to the attainment of the targets of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022. These NDDPs are deployed to 37 local government units in Central Visayas and has helped strengthened their implementation of the different PPAN programs namely the Nutrition Specific, Nutrition Sensitive and Enabling Programs. This has improved the region’s nutritional status as shown in the recent 2022 OPT Plus results where stunting in Central Visayas has decreased from 9.66% in 2021 to 8.50% in 2022 and wasting from 2.4% to 2.21%, although a fluctuating result was seen for overweight and underweight due to the pandemic.
During the PIR, the HRH-N presented their accomplishments for the second semester of 2022 based in the indicators targeted in the IPCR, as well as the issues, concerns and challenges encountered, and update of their next steps taken from the previous mid-year PIR.
