Cebu City, Cebu – The National Nutrition Council Region VII joins the Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Institute (DOST-FNRI) as they held a dissemination forum on the result of the 2021-2022 Expanded National Nutrition Survey (ENNS). The forum was held on 29 November 2022 at Golden Prince Hotel, Cebu City. The 2021-2022 ENNS covered a total of 37 local government units: one (1) Highly Urbanized City, and the provinces of Bohol and Negros Oriental in Central Visayas.
The ENNS is a population-based household survey conducted by the DOST-FNRI. The survey provides relevant data on the health and nutrition situation at the provincial/HUC level that may serve as the basis for planning local nutrition actions and other development programs and for crafting timely policy decisions. For the DOST-FNRI to generate results at the Provincial/Highly Urbanized City levels, they carried out a three-year restructured rolling survey design.
The dissemination forum activity was attended by 32 Nutrition Action Officers and other local nutrition workers from Bohol Province and Cebu City. It was opened by the Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations of DOST VII, Engr. Tristan L. Abando. The NNC 7 was given an opportunity to close the event with a closing remark. / ND II Franz Cassandra R. Ontina, RND
