2022 Dec28 NutriskwelaSan Francisco, Cebu – The National Nutrition Council Region VII orchestrated the first region-led training on Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program (NCRNP) on 23-25 November 2022 at Santiago Bay Garden and Resort, San Francisco, Cebu.

Sixteen participants from the three community radio stations in the region namely Radyo Kaigsoonan, Radyo Kahimsug, and Radyo Kalampusan joined the three-day training with facilitators from the NNC 7 Secretariat and officers of the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development 7 (MIND 7).

Fifteen (15) modules comprised the entire training which includes an introduction to the NCRNP and its operation, roles of the community radio council and station personnel, designing a developmental program, radio broadcasting voice and effective anchoring and interviewing techniques, and digital media and social networking among others.

DYMR – Radyo Pilipinas Cebu news and public affairs director Dr. Anabelle C. Lagrosas shared her expertise in the basic principles of radio broadcasting including proper anchoring and program handling in her topic “Radio Broadcasting Voice and Effective Anchoring and Interviewing Techniques”. As one of the veteran radio anchors in the region with experience in government broadcasting, she also shared a few tips on how to stay neutral in handling political-based programs.

On the other hand, MIND 7 board member and past Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Cebu Chapter Secretary Ms. Yolanda A. Gendrauli facilitated the discussion on Rules and Regulations of Radio Broadcast. She also answered common questions on KBP accreditations raised by the radio station personnel.

Participants put their learnings into practice as they had their hands-on practicum at Radyo Kalampusan radio station where the team was grouped into five and initiated live delivery of news, public service announcement, interview, radio drama, and campaign plugs. // DMO II Norre Jean V. delos Santos
