Sikatuna, Bohol – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Sikatuna, Bohol conducted a program implementation review on 14 December 2022 at the Municipal Function Hall. The said activity was attended by MNC Chairman/ Municipal Mayor Hon. Justiniana Ellorimo, MNAO Dr. Paz A. Maniwang, all their 10 Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and other MNC members.

The activity assessed the level of effectiveness and efficiency of program implementation of the health and nutrition program and to identify any adjustments that could be made to maximize the services provided.

There was also a sharing of ideas and ways on how to properly implement the nutrition programs of each barangay not just for the BNSs but also to all MNC members. The committee also planned to push for the implementation of their locally funded dietary supplementation program for pregnant women in 2023 to help eradicate or lessen the stunting cases of LGU Sikatuna. MNAO Dr. Maniwang in her statement during the activity said “ang stunting dili kaliwat, it is a chronic disease that’s why let’s give importance to the First 1000 days of life and we will be targeting the pregnant women for supplementary feeding by next year 2023”.

After identifying the factors that affected how the program was implemented, new ideas and appropriate strategic actions were put in place to further improve the LGU's health and nutrition situation. ND II, Sarah Belle I. Antiola, RND
