Jimalalud, Negros Oriental – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Jimalalud, Negros Oriental conducted its 4th Quarter Meeting and Program Implementation Review (PIR) on 29 December 2022 at the Municipal Mayor’s Office.
The said activity was attended by Mayor Hazel C. Tuanda, Sangguniang Bayan members (SB on Health and Agriculture), Municipal Agriculture Officer, ABC President, MDRRM and DepEd Representatives, and other nutrition stakeholders in the Municipality.
The activity aimed to review, assess, and evaluate the outcome and success of the nutrition and health program, ascertain if the project met its proposed objectives and improve project planning and concept criteria. Issues and concerns regarding the nutrition program in the LGU were also discussed during the meeting.
Doctor Josephine Y. Fernandez, MHO/MNAO, also shared to the MNC members that the Rural Health Unit will be distributing Allen Sticks (height boards) and weighing scales to all the barangays in the Municipality as one of the preparations for the upcoming 2023 Operation Timbang activity. The procurement of the standard height boards and weighing scales were part of the 2022 Municipal Nutrition Action Plan that aims to ensure the proper taking of height and weight measurements of children 0-59 month old.
After the PIR, the MNC members discussed and shared ideas for better implementation of the nutrition activities for 2023 to ensure an improved nutrition situation in the whole Municipality. // ND II Chutsvieka May Pacatang, RND
