Dagohoy, Bohol – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Dagohoy commenced their monitoring of the local level plan implementation of the nutrition program in the municipality on 10 January 2023. Integral to the monitoring is the mentorship of the barangay focal persons, the Barangay Nutrition Scholars. The activity was led by the Municipal Health Officer/MNAO Dr. Maria Elena Oripaypay together with MNPC Lester Mar Oripaypay and nutrition staff Meldrid V. Bautista.

The monitoring activity is continued every Tuesday where one barangay is visited. A wide array of health and nutrition service such as medical consultations, distribution of micronutrients, among others is included in the course of the activity.

During barangay visitation, the monitoring team also visits public elementary schools where they checked the status of Gulayan sa Paaralan, WASH program and other interventions implemented for school children provided by DepEd personnel. The team also investigated the participation of DepEd in meetings of Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) and encouraged them to help in making the BNC functional. 

True to its mission of improving the delivery of health and nutrition services for people to reduce infant and maternal mortality, the MNC under the leadership of its Chair and Mayor Hon. Germinio C. Relampagos who happen to be a doctor strives to make their vision which states that “By 2023, the municipality of Dagohoy will be socially and economically productive through an actively participating community, intersectoral coordination, and equitable distribution of health services and quality nutrition to its constituents”, a reality. // ND II Annie Claire B.
