San Francisco, Cebu – With the different activities beckoning on the horizon for 2014, NNC 7 held its annual planning session last 08 to 09 January 2014 back to back with the 2013 Program Implementation Review at the Santiago Bay Garden and Resort, San Francisco, Cebu.
A review of the 2013 activities was made wherein the highs and lows of each activity were identified and how it contributed to the achievement of the major final output of NNC regional office and the over-arching goal of improving the nutritional status of the people in Region VII. The things discussed would be taken in to consideration in the 2014 activities.
After the review an extensive planning session followed. Planning is a crucial component of good management and governance. The process enables the team to look into the future in an orderly and systematic way. It provides a clear focus to the official and staff for program implementation and management of the regional office. It also provides an avenue wherein the activities that are deemed important are taken into account first with consideration of the existing workforce who can accomplish such tasks and finding alternative solutions to certain activities that need additional support. It provides a basis for monitoring progress, and for assessing results and impact.
The Work and Financial Plan for 2014 along with the 2014 Project Procurement and Management Plan was also drafted. The roles of each staff were also reviewed. This was done so that each staff would be aware of their role in each of the activities that would be implemented. With this planning, NNC 7 sees a 2014 jampacked with activities that would help in improving the nutrition status of Region VII yet taking into consideration the human resource to accomplish such tasks.
