La Libertad, Negros Oriental – The Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) of North Poblacion, La Libertad in cooperation with the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) initiated a nutrition activity dubbed “Batang North, Batang may Laban. Iwas Undernourish, Iwas Stunting, and Iwas Wasting Program”. This was held on 27 December 2022 at La Libertad Satellite Market.

The activity included height and weight taking of children 0–6 years old, distributing multivitamins and rice with monggo to all the identified children, and nutrition education. More than a hundred children and parents/caregivers benefited from this nutrition event. The Barangay Nutrition Scholar and Barangay Health Workers in Poblacion spearheaded the activity. They were ably supported by the members of the BNC and MNC.

Municipal Health Officer/Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Dr. Lenel Cathlyn B. Mahinay, and SB on Health, Hon. Ronie Facturan in their respective messages during the opening program hope for a better nutrition situation and to have healthier and brilliant children in the municipality.

Barangay North Poblacion will continue on giving more prioritization to the nutrition program as they realized the importance of nutrition in the overall development of the barangay.
