Bohol Province – The Provincial Nutrition Committee of Bohol conducted the first quarter meeting for the year for its provincial association of Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators (MNPCs). The meeting was held on 20 January 2023 at Panda Tea Garden, Tagbilaran City.

The activity was attended by fifty-four (54) participants, composed of district nutritionists and the MNPCs. The tutok kainan supplementary program (TKSP) focal person DMO II Jenelyn Guillena and the national health workforce support system (NhWSS) ND II Claire Anasco also participated in the abovementioned meeting. The discussions included program updates covering the provincial milk feeding update, and TKSP; nutrition human resources including capacity mapping updates and the PIMAM coordinator per municipality; MNAO and MNPC reports; and the provincial nutrition evaluation. The workplan of the MNPC Association of Bohol was also deliberated upon.

During the meeting, DMO II Guillena gave updates on the TKSP while ND II Anasco discussed the local nutrition committee reports such as the updated nutrition stakeholders’ directory, latest capmap and LNC functionality.

The attendees agreed the schedule of the provincial nutrition slated on 29 March to 18 May 2023 and will use the NNC-developed Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) tool, help complete the documents (updated masterlist, contact details of barangay focal persons, MOU with LGUs) for the TKSP, and submit reports as scheduled. The body also approved the MNPC Association workplan.

The meeting also provided opportunity for the MNPC Association members to express and share their opinions on the province's nutritional challenges and to better the nutrition situation of the entire province. //DMO II Jenelyn A. Guillena
