Danao, Bohol – The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Danao held its first quarter meeting on 10 February 2023, at the Mayor’s Office, Municipal Hall, Poblacion, Danao, Bohol. The meeting was presided by the Mayor’s Executive Assistant Mrs. Belen P. Signe, on behalf of the Chairman, Hon. Jose G. Cepedoza. It was attended by 11 MNC members representing the following offices: Agriculture, Budget, Engineering, Environment and Natural Resources, General Services, Health, Social Welfare and Development, and NGOs including MACCO, BHW Federation, BNS Federation, and Women’s Federation.  Doctor to the Barrio Dr. Reina Juno U. Sumatra, MNPC Dahlia F. Orapa, and ND II Annie Añasco were also present to provide technical and administrative support.

The meeting tackled the MNC’s vision and mission, LNAP 2023-2025, MNC roles and responsibilities, trends in malnutrition among 0-59 months old, the milk feeding program, Tutok Kainan Supplementary Program, and the provincial evaluation. The body also reviewed the Monitoring and Evaluation for Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro tool.

During the deliberations, the body finalized their one-year and three-year Local Nutrition Action Plan 2023 and 2023-2025 considering the targets and resources of the different agencies to be infused to the nutrition program. With the Php 100,000.00 approved budget for the year, the committee members agreed to prioritize the provision of direct interventions to families with malnourished children. They also consented to include Sangguniang Kabataan Federated as a member of the MNC and decided the schedule of their quarterly meetings, the second of which will be held on the first week of April. // ND II Annie Clair C.
