Bohol Province – In compliance with the agreement made during the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program (TKSP) meeting organized by NNC 7 with participating LGUs held on 8 February 2023, the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Alburquerque launched the TKSP on 16 February 2023 simultaneously with the other LGUs in Central Visayas.
Prior to the commencement of the program, the MNC through MNAO Ma. Gemmaliza Bongais reoriented the members of the Barangay Nutrition Committees and other program implementers on the needed actions to be taken before, during and after the program implementation. She also reminded the TKSP focal persons in the barangays on their roles and responsibilities as well as the MNC and BNC to make ensure that the launch and the program will be successful. The reorientation session was held on 14 February 2023 at the rural health unit of the municipality attended by 12 participants.
The municipality of Alburquerque is one of the LGUs in the province of Bohol who will be implementing the Phase 3 of the program. A total of sixty (60) 6-23-month-old children will benefit from said program coming from five barangays: East Poblacion, West Poblacion, Ponong, Santa Filomena and Toril. The beneficiaries will receive supplementary foods for a period of 180 days. Beneficiaries were chosen in the following order of priority: 1) 6-23-month-olds who were stunted; 2) 6-23-month-olds who were wasted; 3) 6-23-month-olds who were borderline stunted or wasted; and 4) 6-23-month-olds who were eligible regardless of nutritional status.
