Nutri-Painting Contest TeaserPresidential Decree 491 designated July as Nutrition Month for the “purpose of creating greater awareness among our people on the importance of nutrition.” The 46th Nutrition Month campaign in 2020, focuses on the prevention of child stunting.  This year’s theme is “Batang Pinoy, SANA TALL… Iwas Stunting, SAMA ALL! Iwas ALL din sa COVID-19!”.

The 46th National Nutrition Month Celebration’s theme aims to promote awareness and mobilize actions to address stunting. Likewise, it calls for a collective vision of having taller Filipino children by preventing stunting through the participation of government, non-government organizations, civil society, business, academe, communities, and families.

Specifically, the celebration aims to (1) raise awareness on the impact of stunting and evidence-based solutions among families and communities leading to change in behaviors to prevent stunting; (2) to stimulate national and local discourse on stunting to understand its causes and the multi-sectoral solutions for increased investments in interventions and; (3) generate concrete commitment among various stakeholders to scale-up nutrition actions.
