PALO, Leyte - To promote the 2021 Nutrition Month Advocacy, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in Eastern Visayas has been conducting a series of thematic talks to various nutrition stakeholders and advocates in the region.

On July 2, the regional offices conducted simultaneous thematic talks for Samar, Northern Samar, Baybay City and other Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) areas.

RNPC Catalino P. Dotollo, NOIII Archie S. Labordo, NOI Annabel Limbagan, led the virtual discussions, respectively.

The series of thematic talks aim to disseminate the Nutrition Month advocacy, the nutrition situation in the region, addressing malnutrition, discuss the various opportunities for stakeholders.

This year, the nutrition month celebration is anchored on the theme, "Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 10000 Days Tutukan," aimed to increase understanding of the First 1000 days of life and increase collaboration with stakeholders and other sectors for scaled up interventions to fight malnutrition, RNPC Dotollo said.

On top of this, the NNC regional office also has a series of radio guestings and other lined up activities for the month-long celebration including online contests, webinars, malunggay tree planting, daily nutri-quiz, among others.

The NNC assures that all its activities strictly adhere to minimum public health standards amid the threat of coronavirus disease.#GSabalza
