ECCDareas TKAug2021Baybay City ---Seven (7) local government units (LGUs) in Leyte ECCD F1K areas and nearby municipalities joined the NNC8 orientation on Tutok Kainan dietary supplementation program and advocacy forum on RA 11148 on 19 August 2021 at Danmar Venue and Tuna Grill, Baybay City, Leyte.

Joining from the ECCD F1K (Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1,000 Days) areas are from Mahaplag, Hilongos and Baybay City. On the other hand, joining for the TK:DSP areas are from Albuera, Inopacan, Hindang, and Matalom.

RNPC Dr. Catalino Dotollo, Jr. discussed the rationale, objectives, and target partner-children. Likewise, Dr. Dotollo shared on the implementation mechanism including type of feeding, timing and duration of the program. Content of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the roles of LGUs up to the barangay level were also given emphasis.

NOIII Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo discussed in detail regarding the various forms to filled out and requirements to be submitted. Moreover, NO1 Annabel B. Limbagan discussed the cycle menu and how to prepare the food.



Dr. Labordo facilitated the open forum to extract various issues and concerns and timeline of the implementation was plot.

Additionally, RNPC Dotollo lead in the policy dissemination and advocacy forum on RA 11148 or the “Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag Nanay Act” . RNPC Dotollo, highlighted the salient features of the law. He emphasizes RA 11148 as platform for the creation of nutrition office with separate budget and full-time NAO taking into consideration other policy instrument such EO 138 or the Mandanas-Garcia ruling, DBM LBC 137 and LBC 53.

Finally, Dr. Dotollo encouraged the participants to join in the planning workshop at the local government unit in crafting the Devolution Transition Plan and in the Annual Investment Programming.

The one-day orientation and advocacy forum were attended in by municipal nutrition action officers and municipal nutrition coordinators of the said areas. #CPDotollo & NASLabordo
