1. Eat lots of fiber and reduce intake of high fat and high cholesterol foods!

Cholesterol and fat are important to the body, but too much is bad! They can result both to obesity and a condition called atherosclerosis wherein plaques build up in the arteries leading to high blood or hypertension and eventually heart problems! Fiber can help in the control of cholesterol levels and also promote satiety which helps in the management of weight.

2. Manage your stress!
Stress is as toxic as nicotine. Too much stress does not only affect the mental health of a person but can also cause hormonal imbalances in the body which can be taxing to our organs, especially the heart. According to a study by Streptoe and Kivimaki (2012), stressed individuals who are also socially isolated or alone have a higher risk of experiencing Coronary Heart Disease (CHD).

3. Do aerobic exercises!

Aerobic exercises such as walking, cycling, swimming, tennis/badminton, and zumba helps improve circulation of blood and management of weight. Not only that, low to moderate intensity exercises can help lower cortisol hormones which is often called the stress hormone. #PNFP-IFD
