MAASIN CITY - The National Nutrition Council (NNC) together with development partners including UNICEF, Samaritan's Purse, and Plann International have visited Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte on February 22, 2022.The team was on on its second day of Health and Nutrition Program Monitoring visit in areas most affected by Typhoon Odette that devastated the province on December 16, 2021.
PNFP Gerico A. Sabalza and Samaritan's Purse training team conducted a crash course training on Health and NiE (Simplified PIMAM, Family MUAC, MNIYCF-E, EO51, MNP and Immunization) to BNSs and Health Workers.
Through the effort of the Municipal Mayor Hon. Melchor P. Petracorta together with the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Remigilda M. Salomon, Limasawa is the 1st in Region VIII to receive Nutrition Honor Award in 2011.
Nutrition Honor Award is the highest distinction given by the National Nutrition Council to an LGU in recognition of its outstanding planning, management and implementation of local nutrition programs. #PNFP-ROB
