SB NervesPALO, Leyte - March of every year is designated as Women’s Month Celebration. The goal of the celebration is to provide education on how women helped shape the nation and to empower children by introducing them to historical role models.

In the Philippines, the Women's Month Celebration has since served as a venue to highlight women's achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women's empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and commitments.

It focuses on the way women have contributed to society and culture. The event draws global awareness to the plight of women around the world.

This year’s theme is “Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. The theme highlight women’s concerns in the government agenda.

In Hilongos, Leyte, one of the pilot areas of National Nutrition Council’s project site on the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days, celebrated the event.

SB Committee on Health, Nutrition and Sanitation Honorable Bernadeth Moran- Nerves spearheaded the women’s month celebration with the concurrence of the Municipal Mayor of the municipality.

The celebration in the municipality kicks off today with a motorcade followed by a zumba. Earlier in the morning, Hon Moran-Nerves announced in the Sanggunian about the Women’s Month Celebration and its various activities of the month-long celebration.

She said that the culmination will happen on March 31, 2022. Various services will be accorded to women of the municipality with a seminar on Violence Against Women and Children. #NPC-CPD  #WomenMakeChange
