The BNS during his stewardship as Barangay Captain made her as the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar and is now working as permanent employee of the LGU.

Mayor Nikko continued his support to nutrition when he became the mayor of the city. The city maintained his status as the top city in the entire Eastern Visayas to have the lowest malnutrition. The city also attributed to contribute the lowest malnutrition rate in the province of Southern Leyte.
