ARBO HilongosHILONGOS, Leyte - The National Nutrition Council 8 embarks on partnership with Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBOs).

A Marketing Agreement (MA) between NNC 8 and the Tagbawto-Hilusig Communal Irrigators’ Association, Inc. of Hilongos, Leyte was signed and signals the start of the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK-DSP) for 6-23months old children and nutritionally-at-risk pregnant women.

RNPC Catalino P.Dotollo Jr. represented the NNC8 while Mr. Ruelito M. Vilbar, Association President represented the Tagbawto Hilusig Communal Irrigators’ Association, Inc.

Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program aims to contribute to the prevention of stunting among children 0-23months old by improving the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of related Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1KD) services among children 6-23months old children and nutritionally-at-risk pregnant women in the target Tutok Kainan program areas.

Meanwhile, Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) will serve as the suppliers for the raw ingredients to be used in preparing hot meals for the target beneficiaries. Said ARBO will cover and supply raw commodities to the municipalities of Matalom, Hilongos, Hindang, Inopacan, Mahaplag and Albuera, all in Leyte province.

Present during the signing of the MA were PNFP assigned in Leyte Ms. Annabel B. Limbagan, Ms. Gracielda Neri, Association Treasurer, Ms. Ma. Luisa R. Lor, Board of Trustees, MNAO Edward F. Lora and Mr. John Mark L. Arrabis, Nutrition staff.

The signing was held at the Municipal Nutrition Office in Hilongos, Leyte.

The TK DSP will help reduced wasting and stunting in the area and will subsequently help in the reducing the same in the province of Leyte and the entire Eastern Visayas. The program implementation will also help improve income of the local farmers. In turn they will also have enough income and be able to buy for the families. #RNPC-CPD
