MNAO MaydolongPALO, Leyte - The Nutrition Action Officers Association of the Philippines (NAOPA) Eastern Visayas chapter has a new set of officers and board of directors. The election was held during its first meeting for this year.

Ms. Teresita Bayotas-Garado, Public Health Nurse and concurrent Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of the municipality of Maydolong was elected Board of Director representing the province of Eastern Samar. Ms. Garado’s government service spanned more than 3 decades starting in 1991 as the municipality’s Public Health Nurse (PHN).

On top of her being a PHN, she is a doting mother to her children, a loving and supportive wife to her husband. In 2016, her husband a former public-school principal ran and won as the mayor of Maydolong, Eastern Samar.

It was also on that year that she was designated as concurrent Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, on top of her being the First Lady of Maydolong.

Her length of service in public health is a proof of her dedication and commitment to her constituents. Her being a PHN, an MNAO, a mother, a wife and a First Lady did not prevent her from serving civic and professional organization. She was elected Vice President of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), Eastern Samar Chapter.

The leadership and managerial skills of Ms. Garado is unprecedented. With her as one of the board of directors NAOPA EV chapter will surely soar high the organization and will ultimately contribute to the attainment of malnutrition reduction in the region as shown of her track record of low prevalence of malnutrition in Maydolong.

Congratulations, MNAO Ma. Teresita Bayotas-Garado! #RNPC-CPD
