PALO, Leyte - The 1st Quarter meeting of Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs) was conducted at the MacArthur Viewdeck Park, candahug, Palo, Leyte on April 7, 2022.
Highlights of the meeting was their Constitution and By-laws (CBL) which is on its finalization stage. Most MNAOs asked regarding benefits of NAOs under the CBL. The CBL is silent on the provision of benefits among registered NAOs hence they have to review their CBL before its ratification.
Other agenda taken was the giving out of second quarter MNAOs and BNSs incentives from PHO. Likewise on the request for LNAP training for all LGUs and Nutrition in Emergencies + Information Management training and NIEM planning workshop.
RNPC Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. attended and gave updates on nutrition programs and projects. He emphasized the start of the Phase III Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program for 6-23 months.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)with the Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office 8. He further informed the MNAOs on the signing of the Marketing Agreement (MA) with two Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization ARBOs.
The ARBOs will provide feeding commodities which include meat, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmer-members. The ARBO in Hilongos, Leyte will cover municipalities of Matalom, Hilongos, Hindang, Inopacan, Mahaplag and Albuera.
The other ARBO from Javier, Leyte will cover Abuyog, Javier, MacArthur, La Paz, Mayorga and Tolosa. He further said that the TK: DSP will also be a platform for other nutrition sensitive interventions including nutrition education through nutritext blasts.
The RNPC also inform the MNAOs on the soon to be implemented TK:DSP for nutritionally-at-risk pregnant women to be implemented in 23 municipalities and cities in Leyte including the Baybay, Ormoc and Tacloban.
Moreover, Dr Dotollo also continued its advocacy on the creation of permanent nutrition plantilla positions and include the same in their respective Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs).
He then further discussed the submission of proposal for the traveling allowance (TA) of their Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs). Dr Dotollo stressed to submit their liquidation requirements to NNC so they can request and submit proposal fir TA of BNSs. #RNPC-CPD
