MACROHON, Southern Leyte – The National Nutrition Council has conducted a Basic Training Course for the Barangay Nutrition Scholars of Marcohon town in Southern Leyte on April 25-29, 2022.
NNC8 technical staff headed by RNPC Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. led the five-day training organized and funded by the local government unit.
Ms. Romalyn Sacay, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, initiated the training assisted by Rural Health Unit staff headed by Dr. Pilar Abaday, the Municipal Health Officer.
The training was initiated by the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Romalyn Sacay and the RHU staff headed by Dr. Pilar Abaday. The MNAO invited NNC 8 team to facilitate and serve as resource speakers to train and reorient both new and old 31 Barangay Nutrition Scholars.
On the first day of the training, Dr. Abaday welcomed the 31 new and old Barangay Nutrition Scholars, emphasizing the importance of capacitating the nutrition volunteers to effectively serve its respective communities.
Later in the afternoon, Mayor Jose graced the training, who vowed to support the BNSs. Meanwhile, RNPC Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. sets the tone of the training by discussing the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022 and the role of the BNSs. #NOII-TMDC #PNFP-RMS
