PALO, Leyte - The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 8 has conducted a simultaneous monitoring of Nutriskwela community radio stations across the region from June 1-2, 2022.

RNPC Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr. and PNFP for Leyte, Annabel Limbagan, inspected the Radyo Kausbawan at Palompon Institute of Technology in Palompon, Leyte; PNFP Gerico Sabalza visited Radyo Kabulig and Radyo Kauswagan in San Policarpio town and Borongan City, repectively, both in Eastern Samar; while PNFP Ramel O. Bandibas monitored Radyo Kabulig in Catubig, Northern Samar.

Though some of them reported minor damages due to the series of typhoon that hit the region last year and in the past months, they have continued serving the community through the airing of various nutrition and other development programs.

Nutriskwela Community Radio Project involves the setting up of non-profit, non-partisan community radio stations and the training of broadcast personnel in areas of the country with high malnutrition prevalence and which do not have easy access to broadcast media.

Moreover, the Nutriskwela Community Radio aims to empower the community through the dissemination of correct and up-to-date nutrition and health information, as well as educational and developmental information from all relevant sectors of the community, government agencies, and non-government organizations. #PNFP-GAS
