PALO, Leyte – The Leyte Provincial Association of Municipal Nutrition Action Officers conducted its second quarter meeting at the new Leyte Capitol in Palo town.
Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr., Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, attended the meeting and shared updates on Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementaion (MELLPI) Pro.
He shed light on the indicators of the different dimensions focussing on the means of verification in each of the indicators so that the Municipal Nutrition Committee members can better prepare documents that will support to get a score of either 4 or 5.
Dr. Dotollo challenged the Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team (PNET) to conduct technical assistance by way MELLPI PRO mentoring and coaching at the beginning of the year so that MNCs can prepare needed documents and how they will comply to meet the indicators.
Leyte MNAOs on the other hand was advised by Dr. Dotollo not to afraid of the conduct of MELLPI as the process is not intended to find fault in their nutrition program implementation. The MELLPI is an avenue to improve nutrition program implementation and subsequent improve nutrition outcomes at the municipal and barangay level.
Meantime, two municipalities in Leyte made a buddy system to mentor or coach LGU who are good performers. This is in line with the Nutrition Shepherding program of the National Nutrition Council. #RNPC-CPD
