PALO, Leyte - The Local Government Unit of Tabango, Leyte through the initiative of new Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Joselito Arrogante, in close coordination with the Liga ng mga Barangays headed by Liga President Hon. Rubelita dela Cruz and Mayor Bernard Jonathan Remandaban conducted a municipal-wide formulation of 2023-2025 Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAPs).

The workshop was funded by the Liga ng mga Barangay and the municipal mayor. The activity was attended by Punong Barangays, Kagawad on Health, SK chairpersons, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), Barangay Treasurers and Secretaries. It was facilitated by National Nutrition Council Regional Office 8 staff.

The NNC 8 technical staff takes turn to give inputs on BNAP workshop such as Philippine PlAn of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028, Why invest in Nutrition, Situating Barangay Nutrition Program Management in the Local Development System, The Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) in Action, formulation of Problem Tree and Mission and Vision for nutrition and Outcome Targets.

On the second day was the workshop proper where in the BNCs put on all their outputs into Barangay Nutrition Action Plan 2023-2025 and their financing mechanism. On the third day, the cull out PPAS for 2023 and put it in their 2023 Annual Investment Program for funding. On the same day inputs on monitoring and evaluation plan.

Before the day end on the 3rd day and after putting all the outputs, the BNCs take turn to print their draft BNAP 2023-2025 ready for adoption of the Barangay Council through a resolution ordinance.

Part of their output is the drafting of resolutions ordinance so that when they go home the Barangay Council will just call for a session and approved said resolution ordinance adopting the 2023-2025 BNAPs.

The 13 BNAPs representing the 13 barangays wa then submitted to the ba MNAO and copy furnished NNC8. #RNPC-CPD
