PALO, Leyte - The National Nutrition Council Region 8 received an Appreciation Award from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for being one of the partners and members of the Regional Advisory Council (RAC) for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) last December 9.

The program was hosted by Mr. Reden M. Sabela, Institutional Partnership Development Officer of the program. After the awarding the Regional Director of Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Imelda C. Laceras detailed the developments on their agency that could help the improvement of the management of programs across agencies.

Her speech was followed by Dr. Charlie Labarda from the UP Manila School of Health Sciences (UPM SHS), one of the Civil Society Organization (CSOs) of the 4Ps Program.

He retold the story that originated the "Ubuntu" Project reminding all the participants pf the humanitarian principles by which all attending agencies and CSOs should abide by and which the program itself is anchored it--The inability of true joy in the midst of one suffering and the importance of collaborative efforts to uplift the least and most disadvantaged of us.

Finally, Regional Director of DSWD, Grace Q. Subong, in her closing statement expressed hope for the year ahead, and the vision of the Program for all vulnerable Filipino families to develop and improve from survival to subsistence and finally self-reliance. #DMOII-IFD
