PALO, Leyte - Of the four provinces covered by the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) in Eastern Visayas, Eastern Samar is the first to launch the project last December 13, 2022.

PMNP is another endeavor that will support the Philippine government to adopt a bold, multisectoral nutrition approach to deliver a coordinated package of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions across the various LGU platforms together with a harmonized social behavior change and communication strategy.

Its project goal is to increase the utilization of a package of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions and improve key behaviors and practices known to reduce stunting in targeted LGUs.

The said project covers four provinces with a total of 70 covered municipalities in the region; 22 municipalities in Leyte; 21 in Samar; 13 in Eastern Samar; and 14 in Northern Samar.

Eastern Visayas has the greatest number of municipalities under the project in the across country.

This 3-year project will be implemented from CY 2022-2025. PMNP Provincial Launching was held at Primea Hotel, Borongan City, Eastern Samar. #DMOII-ABL
