PALO, Leyte - Three municipalities implementation the Local Nutrition in Early Warning System (LNEWS) Program implementation review.

These are Basey in Samar, and Palompon and Hilongos both in Leyte.

The LNEWS- Food and Nutrition Security Program is one of the activities and data sources of the Philippine Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS) of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

The said program aims to understand the causes and seasonality of malnutrition. It also enhances knowledge and skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and data utilization for nutrition program planning and decision-making.

In Eastern Visayas, it was first established in Hilongos and was expanded to the municipalities of Gandara in Samar, Libagon kn Southern Leyte, Palompon in Keyte and Basey in Samar. #DMOII-GAS
