PALO, Leyte -The National Nutrition Council is the highest policy and coordinating body in nutrition. The same is cascaded at the regional level.
The Rise and Rebuild International Foundation an international non-government organization (NGO) paid a courtesy visit with Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr.
Foundation’s Managing Director Mr. Benjamin D. Cinco together with two of his nutrition staff Mr. Mighty S. Morales and Dario Capila paid a visit to RNPC and lay down their program, projects and activities on nutrition in the selected municipalities of Leyte.
The Rise and Rebuild Foundation is an international NGO committed to aiding the poor and the malnourished children and mothers in the Philippine Islands.
The initial program began with the building of communal bathrooms after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan (locally named TS Yolanda) in November of 2013.
While they continue to build bathrooms, the foundation focuses on the nutrition of malnourished children, from birth through secondary school.
Moreover, the Foundation also drill potable water wells, build nutrition centers from the bricks made at the brick making facilities, and operate garden centers.
The establishment of large gardens provide free vegetables for the nutrition centers as well as needed employment for people from local villages.
The need for aid in the Philippines is overwhelming. The Rise and Rebuild Foundation can enrich and bless the lives of many because of the generous donations of supportive friends.
The foundation reported to RNPC their accomplishments of the past years. They also reported their intention to expand their project sites in the province of Leyte both nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive intervention.
For his part, the RNPC vowed to support their projects and help them in enabling component such continuous capability building activities for health and nutrition workers, local nutrition action planning workshops and similar activities.
After the meeting the RNPC handed to the said visiting official and staff collaterals, nutrition reading materials and nutrition menu books as guide for their feeding program. #RNPC-CPD
