The officers and board members of the Association of Nutrition Action Officers of NCR (ANAO-NCR) had its oath taking ceremony last February 15, 2012 held at the Paris Hall, New Horizon Hotel hosted by the National Nutrition Council at the National Capital Region. Nine officers and board members from different LGUs were able to take their oath officiated by the inducting officer, Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo, the Regional Director of Center for Health Development-Metro Manila and the Chair of the Regional Nutrition Committee of NCR.

It was in 2010 when NNC-NCR took the initiative in organizing the NAOs in Metro Manila by convening all the NAOs in a meeting for an election. Mrs. Carmelita “Menchie” A. Abalos won the election and became the President of the Association. The Metro Manila NAOs officially named their organization as Association of Nutrition Action Officers of NCR or ANAO-NCR with the mission of “creating efficient and effective nutrition action officers in the implementation of the nutrition programs towards the improvement of the nutrition situation in Metro Manila”.

After the oath taking ceremony, a short meeting was held wherein the Association finalized and approved its Constitution and By-laws and brainstormed on their activities for the nutrition month as well as their fund raising activity. Further discussion regarding the plans and activities of the Association for 2012 will be done in their next meeting at Pateros, Metro Manila to be hosted by its Vice President, Dr. Mary Joyce F. Medina.
