Mandaluyong City BNS Mary Grace Tamayo was re-elected as President of the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of NCR for CY 2018-2019. The election was held on November 07, 2017 among the 17 BNS presidents from the local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila.
BNS Tamayo fulfilled her duties as the BNS Federation president from 2015 until 2017 and will continue to lead the organization until 2019. The Federation, under her leadership, has successfully accomplished several activities including the First 1000 Days Fun Run in 2016 and Outreach Activities for the Elderly in 2015 and 2016, to name a few. With the successful conduct of these activities, she gained the trust and support of all Barangay Nutrition Scholars in Metro Manila.
Other BNS Federation activities conducted were:
1. Technical Exchange and Team Building in Naga City (2015), Marinduque (2016) and Ilocos Sur (2017)
2. Annual Regional BNS Conference in 2015-2017; and
3. Music Video Making Contest during the 2017 Nutrition Month (in partnership with National Nutrition Council – NCR)
“Makakaasa kayo na sa pamamagitan ng mga bagong halal na opisyal at board of directors, ang NCR BNS Federation ay patuloy na susuporta at pangangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga BNS. Inaanyayahan ko ang lahat na makiisa sa mga projects at activities na ating isasagawa sa taong 2018 hanggang 2019.” Tamayo said in her President’s Report during the BNS Conference.
Tamayo, together with the other newly elected officers and board members, were inducted during the 2017 Regional BNS Conference by Congresswoman Alexandria “Queenie” Gonzales as the inducting officer.

NNC-NCR Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa Federizo congratulated the new set of officers and board members. She expressed her appreciation for the active support of the NCR BNS Federation to the many undertakings of NNC-NCR.
