The NCR Nutrition Communication Resource Group or NCR held its first meeting for 2014 on January 8 at the Robbinsdale Hotel, Quezon City to map up its activities for the year. The NCR² is the regional nutrition media group that works in partnership with the National Nutrition Council-NCR in intensifying nutrition advocacy and promotion in Metro Manila.

During the meeting, the group reviewed and assessed their 2013 accomplishments. Among the accomplishments of the group are the formulation of the local media plan, participation in the crafting of the Communication Plan for the promotion of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (NGF), involvement in various nutrition advocacy and special events of NNC-NCR which were covered by the media, and publication of nutrition articles in leading newspapers.   

This year, the group will focus on informing the public about nutrition in emergencies (NiE) which is the focus of the 2014 Nutrition Month and to intensify the promotion of the NGF in Metro Manila using various strategies.
