To continually improve the eating habits and behaviors of Filipinos to prevent malnutrition and diet-related non-communicable diseases, the National Nutrition Council – National Capital Region (NNC-NCR) initiated the campaign on the Ten Kumainments through a regional simultaneous promotional event on July 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning. All LGUs in Metro Manila, except Malabon City, participated in the event.

In every LGU, 100 or more Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) mothers attended the event conducted by the local nutrition committee. Greater awareness on the Ten Kumainments was achieved through an audio-visual presentation, distribution of flyers and fans and nutri-games. Another highlight of the event was the turn-over of Mang Moi standee to each of the LGUs in the region.

The event was well attended in every area by their respective Local Chief Executives, city and barangay officials, and members of the local nutrition committee. NNC-NCR Official and staff, together with the members of the Regional Nutrition Committee/Management Group went to their assigned LGU to witness the event and show support to the promotion of the Ten Kumainments.

NNC-NCR hopes that through the continued promotion of good nutrition in the region, the nutrition situation in Metro Manila will continue to improve enabling families and communities to be healthy and productive.
