One of the regular activities of the National Nutrition Council – NCR (NNC-NCR) is the annual conduct of team building activities to renew the team’s commitment toward the achievement and realization of NNC’s mission and vision. The teambuilding also serves as a venue to rekindle the good relationship among official and staff, not only as a team but as a family.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed the world in many ways, but it did not hinder the NNC-NCR to conduct their teambuilding activity. Adapting to the “new and better normal”, the NNC-NCR had its two-day team building on December 14 and 18, 2020 attended by all personnel.
With the theme, "Dynamite: Achieve Team Powers Up for the Better Normal", the team building aimed to strengthen the team by supporting and helping one another build positive energy and having a mindset that despite of the difficulties and challenges around, the team can do things together the right way to achieve success. The theme was inspired by the song “Dynamite” of the K-pop group BTS and its message of having a positive energy, joy, hope, and love in these challenging times.
First day of the Teambuilding was held on December 14, 2020 via Zoom. Facilitated by Nutrition Officer III Emerenciana L. Francia, three (3) activities were done, namely, (1) Chit. Chat. Fun; (2) Know Me Deeper: Human Bingo Game; and (3) Scavenger Hunt.
Starting the second day held on December 18, 2020 was the visit to the Immaculate Conception Church in Naic, Cavite. It is the group’s tradition to visit a church to give thanks to the Lord for the blessings especially for the good health of everyone, ask for guidance on the success of the activity and continued healing to those who were affected by the recent typhoons and pandemic. The group visited the Torres Farm and Resort afterwards wherein they spent the whole day to bond and took photos with the world’s most iconic destinations and most-visited landmarks featured on the venue.
Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa V Federizo hopes that through the teambuilding activity, the group were able to discover more things about each other and made everyone motivated to do their tasks well. And just like what the lyrics of the song "Dynamite" convey, for the group to remain positive, enjoy life and live like a dynamite.
"I hope na amidst the challenges na kinakaharap natin this year, sana ay makakita tayo ng bagay para ipagpasalamat. We need to look beyond those difficulties and try to appreciate kung ano ang itinuro sa atin ng mga difficulties na ito," RNPC Federizo added.
Through the teambuilding activities, the group were able to catch up with each other, know each other deeper and strengthen unity among the group to create a better NNC-NCR Achieve Team for the better normal. (TAR/NPC MEVF/NNC-NCR)
