CDNPC Meeting 16Sept21The City/District Nutrition Program Coordinators (C/DNPC) of Metro Manila Association, Inc. will focus its regional conference this year on building food and nutrition resilience in the new normal. Now on its 35th year, the conference is set to take place on December 2-3, 2021.

The Association, in cooperation with the National Nutrition Council – NCR, annually conducts its regional conference to provide its members and partners with technical updates on relevant issues on nutrition. However, they were not able to conduct the regional conference last year due to their involvement in the COVID-19 response in their localities.
Since we are still amidst the battle against COVID-19, the conference theme is very timely for it will enlighten the participants on the importance of and strategies on building food and nutrition resiliency to mitigate the threats and impacts of the pandemic. It will tackle various topics such as how to deal with and manage mental health issues, the power of healthy eating and being physically active, infant and young child feeding (IYCF) during COVID-19, and the impact of the pandemic on hunger, malnutrition and food security, among others. It will also feature local government initiatives for better nutrition.

On September 16, 2021, the Association members met and planned for the program and other details of the conference. With the rising cases of COVID-19 and the community quarantine still in place, the regional conference will be held virtually via Zoom. Invitation will be open to all Nutritionist-Dietitians (ND) in local government units, universities/academe, hospitals, and other institutions.

The C/DNPC Association is a recognized organization of highly competent public health Nutritionist- Dietitians committed in improving the management of nutrition programs toward a healthy and malnutrition-free National Capital Region. True to its mission of developing committed and competent C/DNPCs, the annual conference serves as a continuing professional development activity for its members and fellow ND professionals.
