In addition to trophies and certificates, the 14 outstanding local nutrition focal points (LNFP) in NCR also received cash incentives from the National Nutrition Council (NNC). The giving of awards and incentives are part of NNC’s support to these LNFPs for their commendable services and contribution in the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) at the local level in 2019.

These Outstanding LNFPs were recognized and given trophies and certificates during the 2021 Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon or the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on December 7, 2021 at The Heritage Hotel Manila in Pasay City (full story here: https://www.nnc.gov.ph/regional-offices/luzon/national-capital-region/6750-metro-manila-lgus-and-lnfps-recognized-for-exemplary-performance-in-nutrition).
The outstanding LNFPs were selected through the conduct of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro from June to September 2021. The MELLPI Pro is the monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) at the local level. The PPAN is the country’s framework for nutrition improvement. The annual MELLPI is done to assess the LGUs’ performance in local nutrition program implementation as well as the performance of local nutrition focal points.
We hope that with these incentives, more LNFPs will be motivated to excel in the performance of their duties and responsibilities that will result in quality nutrition program management.
