The National Nutrition Council – NCR’s Webinar Series on Nutrition: Year 2 will focus its  episodes for 2022 on the National Nutrition Council (NNC) and the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

The webinar series dubbed as “NutriSerye: Usapang nutrisyon, atbp.” was launched in 2021 as a strategy to reach out to more people and influence them to practice good nutrition. Topics discussed were various nutrition issues such as healthy diet and proper exercise especially during the pandemic. Nutrition programs of local government units (LGU) and regional outstanding nutrition workers were also highlighted.

Earlier this year, an online recall survey was conducted from January 14-21 to measure Filipinos’ awareness and recall on the existing campaigns of NNC: First 1000 Days of Life, 10 Kumainments, 2021 Nutrition Month and the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

The study shows that in general, there is low level of awareness on the NNC as an organization and First 1000 Days of Life program. On the other hand, there was an increased recall among NNC’s programs (10 Kumainments, PPAN and Nutrition Month) compared with the survey conducted in 2021.

Hence, the NNC-NCR decided to focus and further explore communication efforts within social media, specifically Facebook and YouTube through the conduct of webinar series to intensify promotion on NNC and its programs.

The webinar series are aired via the NNC-NCR Facebook Page every last Friday of the month at 10:00 in the morning. Hosted by NNC-NCR Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa V. Federizo, the webinar series will feature the NNC, PPAN and nutrition specific and sensitive programs of the PPAN.  Each episode will feature a resource speaker from a local government unit in Metro Manila to share their nutrition programs aligned with the PPAN. 

To ensure that the audience learned something from the webinar, a “Question for the Day” will be posted after each episode. Participants who answered correctly and followed all the mechanics will have the chance to win 100-peso load.
