The Officers and Board Members of the Association of Nutrition Action Officers of NCR, Inc. (ANAO-NCR), City/District Nutrition Program Coordinators (C/DNPCs) of Metro Manila Association, Inc., Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) of NCR, Inc., and the newly organized Metro Manila Association of Barangay Nutrition Action Officers (BNAO) for CY 2023-2025 took their oath of office on February 10, 2023 at St. Giles Hotel, Makati City.
These federated nutrition groups in NCR serve as the information and education arm of the National Nutrition Council – NCR (NNC-NCR) in coordinating the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) in the region. The PPAN as the country’s framework for nutrition improvement layouts the targets, directions, and priority actions to address malnutrition. Headed by their respective Presidents, the Board of Directors of the four (4) organizations took their oath of office inducted by Assistant Secretary and NNC Executive Director IV, Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang.
In her message, Assistant Secretary Dayanghirang commended NNC-NCR led by Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa V. Federizo for organizing the Metro Manila Association of BNAOs and for sustaining the active participation of the three (3) regional organizations. She hopes that the local government units will continue to implement nutrition programs to eradicate food insecurity and malnutrition. Lastly, she reminded the participants to be TSISMOSA:
Timely Submission of Important and Salient Monitored Operation Timbang Plus Results or Status with Analysis.
The Presidents also gave their responses. ANAO-NCR President Soccoro Alma Gammad encouraged everyone to become a BTS: Better worker, Trustworthy and teachable leaders, and Significant and strong members of the community. C/DNPCs of Metro Manila Association President Joann O. Espiritu committed to continue the organization’s legacy of being a service and people-oriented Association which upholds the goals of the PPAN. BNS Federation President Mary Ann Morada promised that all BNSs will become TSISMOSA. Lastly, Metro Manila Association of BNAO President Maria Gerlyn Lagleva encouraged her fellow nutrition workers to cooperate and work as a team because teamwork makes the dream work.
RNPC Federizo also encouraged the Officers and Board Members to take on the challenges and work together in unison to achieve the common goal of nutrition improvement. “Magtulungan po tayong makamit ang ating mithiin na Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” she said.
